I'm using AT Journeys as a resource (along with many others) to familiarize myself with AT culture / knowledge as I prepare for my own thru-hike.

Great copy of AT Journeys. I was very interested in what was going on in the world and in the country as MacKaye was considering, creating, communicating his "idea." It provided a view into how different entities viewed his "idea," and helped explain their responses. The disagreement between MacKaye and Avery has been hinted at in previous readings, but the information in this AT Journeys was more informative. Not surprising that they didn't work together in completing the Trail.
