Two safety features in one, plus a carabiner marked with the A.T. monogram. One side is a mini-compass (a useful planning tool with or without a lifesaving map), while the other gives you the current air temperature more precisely than "feels like...."
The carabiner is now royal blue, not the green in the image.

Compass Bubble

Compass arrived with bubble which effects the accuracy. And, of course, the bubble get larger with increased elevation. I wasn’t expecting to do detailed orienteering with this compass, but probably not even useful for basic use.

Fell apart

Fell apart on short day hike. Use it as an ornament don’t put it on a pack even for a short walk

For the price, this is an ok product. Bought 3 to give as gifts, and noticed the compass has to be set just so to get a good reading, and even then one of the 3 pointed slightly off north. Clip and thermometer are fine. A good gadget for local hiking.

Love the green but understand it comes only blue now

Do not like the color. Not a fan of blue. On the A T website it shows the item as green. I'm sure it functions well. Will give it to a fellow hiker.
