The Massachusetts-Connecticut edition covers 140.9 miles from the Vermont state line to the New York state line in one guide and four maps on two sheets. This set also includes side trails in the northern Berkshires (Mt. Greylock area). The pocket-sized planning guide contains background and interpretive information, points of interest, general advice, shelters, water sources, and road crossings. The omnidirectional format allows you to see where you are whether southbound or northbound. Each map is focused on the Appalachian Trail and overlaps with the neighboring maps. The surrounding area, out to about three miles, and additional side trails are also included. An easy-to-use elevation profile shows ups and downs and the distance to the next campsite or shelter, side trails, and water sources. For added interest, maps indicate federal or state lands, road crossings, waterfalls, and scenic areas. Maps are both water- and tear-resistant.
Fourteenth Edition, 2018.

I bought this for my partner. We talked about hiking the AT in segments and since he is the map reader, it's perfect. The book will be a great point of interest for him too as he prefers paper to tech.

These maps are THE authority for any AT adventure. MIleage, elevation, water stations, camp areas, privies...you name it. Everything except local uber #s.

The maps are clear and easy to read, giving lots of info. The guide book has a lot of info also, with historical background as well. It was an excellent purchase, and I recommend it for anyone who’ll do day hiking, sections, or thru hikes to use it.

I am very satisfied with the quality of the materials. The information is plenty of a data geek like me.
