Product Description

The Maine edition covers 282 miles from Katahdin in Baxter State Park to the New Hampshire state line in one planning guide and seven water- and tear-resistant maps. The pocket-sized planning guide contains background information, points of interest, and road-access directions. Each map is focused on the Appalachian Trail and overlaps with the neighboring maps. The surrounding area and additional side trails are also included. An easy-to-use elevation profile shows the ups and downs and the distance to the next campsite or shelter, side trails, and water sources. For added interest, maps indicate road crossings, waterfalls, and scenic areas. Maps are both water- and tear-resistant.

  1. Simple and easy but miss an overview 4 Star Review

    (Submitted on Mar 12th 2020)

I received well the books and maps and I am happy about it. However I would appreciate a geographical overview of what the maps are mapping: a gross map with the 7 quadrants corresponding to the 7 maps, so that we can identify directly where we are in the trail. Furthermore the Map 5 was not in the package, is it because it is a new one?
I am looking forward to using them on the field!

  2. Match the Info 5 Star Review

    (Submitted on Aug 3rd 2019)

This book and the maps will give you ALL the information you'll need to transverse Maine. Pulling the info from 3 books and placing it here on the maps. Much better than the Nat'l Geo maps for this section.

  3. Guide book and maps 4 Star Review

    (Submitted on Mar 30th 2019)

I can't really review this until June when I start my SOBO hike, but I like the info and the weight. I wish I didn't need to bring a map but I can get through NH using the maps I own now and after that I'll reassess how much I have used them from Maine to Vermont.

  4. Product very good!! 5 Star Review

    (Submitted on Jun 29th 2018)

In the past, I could purchase the guidebooks separate from the maps. This did not seem to be the case. Wish that option was still available.
