NTSA Anniversary

Today, October 2, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1968 National Trails System Act, which authorized a class of national scenic trails and named the Appalachian Trail and the (not-yet-completed) Pacific Crest Trail as the first two, providing federal protections for both. The system now has 11 trails.

We have separate books featuring the history and beauty of the two originals, one on all 11, one on trails through Civil War battlefields, and about a dozen other books focusing on history and photography. In celebration of this statute, the Ultimate Appalachian Trail Store is offering 40% off that category of books today only. Plus--you will receive with your order a free copy of the first myATstory DVD! Purchases here are an extra way you can support this national treasure, because "protection' does not mean full federal funding for all the work it takes to safeguard the A.T. experience!

To receive the 40% off discount, enter "NTSA50" in the coupon code at checkout. Discount cannot be combined with other offers (including the member discount) or used on sales/clearance items or membership dues; only this category of books. Promotion ends at midnight, October 2, 2018. Discount cannot be used on wholesale orders.

While you're at it, don't forget the limited edition NTSA anniversary pin and patch--they are real stand-outs!
